A New Event Celebrates Altitude Wines:

Guard Wine Fest brings together producers from Beira Interior and the neighboring Demarcated Regions, Dão and Douro, which will offer visitors the opportunity to discover and taste unique wines, iconic labels and novelties, over three days. In parallel, there are Conversations about Wines, animated by guests such as the enologist Tiago Macena and the Sommelier and member of the tasting panel of Revista de Vinhos, Rodolfo Tristão, to discover the singularities that make the terroirs of these regions so special. On the table will be topics such as Altitude Wines, the expression of native grape varieties such as Encruzado, Rabigato, Syria and Tinta Roriz, or the storage capacity of Portuguese wines.

Showcookings with Recognized Chefs:

Gastronomy is also present, either with the showcookings or in the restaurant area. On the one hand, Cristina Manso Preto, one of the best-known chefs among Portuguese viewers, who conquers with unexpected and easy-to-perform recipes; on the other hand, Diogo Rocha who gave the Mesa de Lemos restaurant a Michelin Star, sharing the common challenge to show the unique authenticity of indigenous products. The restaurant area will offer visitors proposals designed to explore the association between wine and gastronomy, promoted by restaurants well known to all: Alameda, D’sigual Wine House and Pensão Aliança.

The Best Jazz to Accompany the Best Wines:

Since the city has a remarkable tradition in Jazz, over the 3 days visitors will be surprised by spontaneous animations and three intimate concerts of timeless and original classics with a contemporary sound. On display, the unexpected fusion jazz of Indigo Quintet, the swing classics of the American John Pizzarelli and the contagious Latin and Brazilian rhythm of Carioca de Limão. This program will be reinforced with performances by the Blue Velvet Trio, Fanfarras NemFáNemFum and Kaustica and a Swing Station, for a dance floor.
